When thoughts about body image and food take up too much space in your life

If you’re tired of feeling controlled by food, instead of simply enjoying it…
If you’re exhausted from “starting again on Monday”…
If you’re done with the guilt, the rules, the stress, the body shame — you’re in the right place.
Yana Madorski, ACA Registered Counsellor Sydney, emotional eating specialist

I’m Yana Madorski, an ACA-registered counsellor in Sydney. I help clients who feel stuck in the messy middle between “I’m fine” and “I can’t live like this anymore.”
These are people who are smart, capable, successful — and still feel like food has too much power over their day.
I can support you online across Australia and the world. Sessions are available in English and Russian.

What I can help with

Most clients come to me saying things like:

“I eat when I’m stressed, bored, overwhelmed — honestly, I don’t even know why sometimes.”
“I can’t stop thinking about food. Even when I’m not hungry.”
“I want to lose weight, but I’m so tired of dieting and hating myself.”
“I’m scared of ‘bad’ foods and then binge on them anyway.”
“I don’t recognise my body anymore — especially after having kids.”
“I’m so strict with myself… until I’m not. And then I spiral.”

This is the everyday struggle that steals your energy, your confidence, and your joy.

How your life changes when this stops

Imagine this:

You eat because you’re hungry, not because you’re stressed or punishing yourself.
You stop obsessing over every bite.
You enjoy food without guilt.
The cycle of restrict → overeat → shame begins to loosen its grip.
You look in the mirror without that sinking feeling.
You feel calmer and more in control without forcing yourself.

This is what we work toward. Not perfection. Not another diet. Just peace.

What sessions feel like

Think of it like talking to someone who truly gets it. No pressure. No lectures. No “you should…” No digging into things you’re not ready for. Instead, we talk about what’s actually happening in your daily life:

Why evenings may be the hardest
Why you eat when you’re overwhelmed
Why diets work for a week and then fall apart
Why you’re so harsh on yourself
Why your body feels like a problem instead of a home

And slowly, things start to shift. Your mind gets quieter. Your choices get easier. You feel more like yourself again.
