Binge eating support
If eating has started to feel out of your control, and shame follows, you’re not broken, and you’re not alone. This is one of the most common and least talked-about struggles around food.
I’m Yana, a Registered Counsellor (ACA Level 2) based in Sydney, offering binge eating support online across Australia, working from an anti-diet, values-led approach. This is meant to be a genuinely safe space — no judgment, no food rules, no starting over on Monday.

What a binge eating episode can look like
It rarely looks the same twice. Sometimes it’s planned, almost ritualistic, waiting until you’re alone, going to buy specific foods. Sometimes it’s completely automatic, and you only notice once you’re already deep into it. Common threads people describe:
It also tends to repeat in a cycle: the binge, the guilt, the promise to “be better” or restrict tomorrow, and the restriction itself quietly setting up the next binge.
If some of this sounds familiar, that’s worth taking seriously, not as a character flaw, but as a pattern your nervous system has learned, and can unlearn.
Who this is for
This page might be for you if:
You don’t need a diagnosis to start. You just need to be tired of carrying this alone.
Is it binge eating, or emotional eating?
The two are related but not identical. Binge eating involves a specific loss of control and larger amounts of food, and can meet the criteria for a formal diagnosis. If you want the fuller breakdown, I’ve written about the difference in detail on the emotional eating counselling page. You don’t need to work out which one applies to you before reaching out either way.
How I can help with binge eating
I can’t formally diagnose an eating disorder, that sits with a GP or psychologist. What I offer is values-led support to work through what’s underneath the pattern:
If your patterns suggest a formal diagnosis, I’ll help connect you with a GP or dietitian alongside our work, you don’t have to coordinate that team alone.
